Two different opinions, you decide who is right.

Why I Could Never Be A Conservative — I'm told all the time by Republicans and other conservatives that I, as a Libertarian, am ideologically quite close to them. "Join us," they proclaim, "in the small government movement." But if Republican politicians are conservatives, and if conservatives are supposed to support small government, why are so many Republican revolutionaries supporting so many new, expensive government programs? The answer may surprise you.
Why You Should Be — Writing in a February 25 column for this website, Libertarian activist Aaron Biterman labels conservatives and Republicans as “the exact modern day equivalent of the slave owners who mocked abolitionists in the Eighteenth Century.” Aggressive voice does not mean a hateful voice, but I will avoid making Biterman a straw man by not focusing on his arguments ad Hitlerum and instead will address the general assault of Libertarians on what Biterman calls the “lies” and problems of the Republican movement.

Why I Could Never Be A Libertarian — I'm told all the time by Libertarians and others that I, as a Market Anarchist, am ideologically quite close to them. "Join us," they proclaim, "in the small government movement." But if Libertarian politicians are for freedom, and if freedom lovers are supposed to support small government, why are so many Libertarians supporting the government at all? The answer may surprise you.

The Wasted Vote Myth — The biggest objection by allies to voting for a Third Party is the "wasted vote" argument -- the idea that if you vote for someone who will not win, then the vote does not count. Join any third party and merely suggest that another person consider voting for a third party candidate and you will hear ad nauseum, "I don't want to waste my vote." Before delving into the extent of the wasted vote myth, some other myths must be addressed first.
